This workshop is intended to give newcomers a broad awareness of the vocabulary, fundamental principles and basic practices of Lean Project Delivery. This can serve as a framework for learning how to apply lean thinking and methods to deliver significantly greater value on your projects and within your organization.
Bernita Beikman, HKS, Inc. – Bernita Beikmann is a Principal with HKS, Inc. and Director of Operations for the Health Group. She has served integral roles as a project architect, project manager at HKS for the last 20 years, and a coach and facilitator for project teams. As a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, she works with all departments at HKS to improve internal processes. Ms. Beikmann is currently serving on the joint committee for the AIA and AGC and the LCI Board.
Aaron Pitt, J.E. Dunn Construction – A construction PM by trade, Aaron Pitt, of J.E. Dunn Construction, grew up working in construction – seeing the same problems and issues repeated project after project. Mid-career, he was introduced to the ideas of Lean Construction and finally solutions to the reoccurring problems began to surface. Aaron joined JE Dunn in 2015 to teach, train, and build a lean culture full time.
