Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Compliance

The MSHA regulations are based upon the Federal Mine Safety and Health  Act of 1977 and apply to those properties that are upon, under or above the surface and perform extracting work.  We can help you with regulatory interpretation, assist with MSHA inspections, mandatory Part 46 and Part 48 training requirements, and help maintain mandatory recordkeeping documents.

Department of Transportation (DOT) Compliance

Can your organization survive a Department of Transportation (DOT) Compliance Review?  Every day contractors are being found in non-compliance of DOT requirements and receiving fines.  The number of DOT audits of motor carriers increased 142% in the first quarter of 2000, versus the same period of 1999, according to a Progress Report released by the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).  The number of compliance reviews conducted during January - March 2000 increased from 1,148 to 2,935.  At the same time, the average fines levied by DOT per enforcement case increased from $3,118 to $5,241.

Are you prepared to face the bewildering array of federal, state, and local regulations that apply to companies -- even construction companies -- that operate commercial motor vehicles?  Are your drivers required to have a Commercial Driver’s License?  Do your drivers have to keep D.O.T. logbooks?  Do to little, and your company can be confronted with heavy penalties and the possibility of receiving an Unsatisfactory Rating.  Do too much and you waste valuable time and resources.  Our professional staff can help you understand what you are required to do -- no more and no less.
