Student Checklist for Enrollment

1. Complete an Application for Admission (can be accessed at mcckc.edu)
NOTE: Citizenship verification is required for all new applicants to MCC.  To prevent delays with your enrollment, please verify citizenship as instructed.

2. Have official high school or college transcripts sent to the Student Data Center, Metropolitan Community College, 3200 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111. IF you have received any college credit, high school transcripts are not necessary.

3. Register for a Placement Test and/or algebra placement test.  All new students are required to take the Placement Test prior to enrollment. ACT scores may be used in place of the Placement Test if the composite score is higher than 19 and the scores are less than two years old.  If a college degree has been received, or if the student has completed college Math and English courses with a grade of “C” or better, the Placement Test is not required.
 

4. If seeking financial aid, complete and return the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Financial Aid Office at any of the Metropolitan Community Colleges (optional).  Please complete these forms at least four to six weeks prior to enrollment. If you have questions, please call the Financial Aid Office most convenient to you.

5. Call the Business & Technology campus at 816-604-5200 to schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor prior to enrollment.  It is recommended that students see an academic advisor before enrollment to discuss educational goals and to develop a program plan.  This allows the academic advisor and student to benchmark the student’s progress and maintain records.

Please note that this degree transfers in its entirety to University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg, MO into their Bachelor of Science Degree, OR Colorado Technical University, North Kansas City, MO campus into their Bachelor of Science in Technology Management.
