Carpenters, Cement Masons, Construction Laborers, Electricians, Glaziers, Ironworkers, Millwrights, Painters, Roofers and Sprinkler Fitters. If you decide that an apprenticeship program in one of these crafts is for you, just follow these four steps to success:
Step 1: Apply for and be admitted to a construction trades or related craft program at your Career and technical Center (CTC).
Step 2: Ask your counselor or CTC representative how to apply for admission to a registered apprenticeship program and become eligible to receive advanced placement for skills learned at your CTC.
Step 3: Sign a Letter of Agreement and meet the requirements listed below.
Step 4: Complete the requirements for graduation or earn a G.E.D. Make a formal application to the apprenticeship program if you meet conditions set by the Construction Apprenticeship Tech Prep Consortium (CATPC).
What’s in it for you?
- An education in “real world” job skills in a specialized craft
- Good wages, job variety, a sense of accomplishment
- A head start in apprenticing to a life-long career
- The opportunity to find out what a construction career has in store for you...the expectations, the demands, the rewards
- Earn 30 hours of college credit during apprenticeship
- The opportunity to receive advanced placement on the wage scale at the time of admission to the apprenticeship program
Begin Career Building Today! To qualify for advanced placement, participants will be asked to meet the following requirements:
- Complete the CTC Construction Trades or related program with at least a “B” (3.0 GPA) average.
- Maintain at or above a 95% attendance record.
