Classes and SeminarsThroughout the year the Builders’ Association holds a variety of seminars and workshops presented by industry professionals on topics that are current and of immediate importance to the contractors.
Supervisory Training Program STP, the Supervisory Training Program developed by AGC, is designed specifically to meet the needs of the construction industry. Developed, updated, and field-tested by and for contractors, the STP Program consists of ten courses that focus on the knowledge and skills that every supervisor must have to be an effective manager of people, time, equipment and materials.
Associate Degree Programs The Builders’ Association offers two Associate Degree Programs in Construction through the Metropolitan Community Colleges. The first is an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Management that is geared toward those wanting to work in management or support roles within a construction company. The second is an Associate of Applied Science in Industrial Technologies (Construction Options) that is designed for those who are participating in an approved apprenticeship program.
Johnson County Contractor Licensing Contractors are required to complete eight contact hours of continuing education per year. Find out more about Johnson County Contractor Licensing requirements.
AGC Young Constructors Forum The Young Constructors Forum of Kansas City was developed in August 2000 as a local chapter of the national AGC’s Young Constructors Forum. The purpose of thisorganization is to provide an open forum for mid-career professionals in AGC companies to network; exchange ideas, concerns and issues about the industry; promote new member involvement; and to help structure the AGC for the 21st Century.
AGC Student Chapters The Kansas City Chapter, AGC sponsors three student chapters and takes a proactive role in the activities of each of them. We help set up job-site tours, find talented professionals to speak at seminars, create networking opportunities, and provide financial sponsorship of events and activities. Student chapters sponsored by the Kansas City Chapter, AGC include: Central Missouri State University, The University of Kansas, and Southwest Missouri State University.
