K-12 Education Programs

AGC Construction Futures
The Construction Futures campaign was developed by AGC of America as an initiative to help build the future workforce of our industry. The program consists of two components, Build Up! and OnSite!. These programs are designed to educate students about the different types of construction and the career opportunities available to them through curriculum based lessons and hands-on exploration.

Construction Apprenticeship Tech Prep Consortium
The Construction Apprenticeship Tech Prep Consortium (CATPC) is a tech prep educational program which provides secondary students with improved opportunities for a high skilled, high wage and technical occupation.  The Consortium provides a bridge connecting students and technical schools with apprenticeship opportunities so students can begin to build on a great career.  Skilled crafts that participate in the Tech Prep Consortium are: Bricklayers, Cabinet Makers, Carpenters, Cement Masons, Construction Laborers, Electricians, Glaziers, Ironworkers, Millwrights, Painters, and Roofers.  As a part of this program, students come to the Builders’ Association Education and Training Center in North Kansas City to participate in a transitional training program that provides an on site experience with apprenticeship instructors and gives students the opportunity to apply for apprenticeship opportunity, with advanced placement, in the construction industry.

AGC Accreditation Program
In 1987 AGC began accrediting community college and high school vocational craft training programs that meet standards developed by AGC contractors. The AGC Accreditation Program provides guidelines and sets standards that ensure students are getting quality instruction that accurately reflects the training requirements needed in the construction industry today.
