Glazier Apprentice

The Glazier is a highly skilled construction craft. You must be physically able to perform the duties required in the glass industry. Those may include, but are not limited to, measuring, cutting, and fabricating glass and architectural aluminum. The work also includes lifting and installing different types of glass and aluminum frames, working at heights involving ladders, scaffolding, and other types of man lifting devices. Also involved, are precise reading of measurements and working with a variety of hand and power tools. The glazier shall furnish the following tools: hammer, glass pliers, putty

knife, screwdrivers, hacksaw and regular trade tools.  The company shall furnish all power and specialty tools.

Basic Qualifications

  1. 1. All applicants shall have passed their 18th birthday.
  2. 2. Must possess a high school diploma or State-approved Certificate of Equivalency (GED).
  3. 3. Must reside in Glazier Local No. 558 area of jurisdiction.
  4. 4. Applicants shall submit a copy of the following documents when making application:
      • A.  Birth Certificate.
        B.  High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
      • C. High School or College Transcript.
        D.  DD 214, if Veteran.
  5. NOTE:  Documents will not be returned, so present only duplicated copies.

Applications - When and Where To Apply

Applications must be made in person with the Glaziers Joint Apprenticeship Committee at 105 W. 12th Avenue, North Kansas City, MO, on the 2nd Monday of each month from 8:00 am until Noon.

ATTENTION: Due to the uncertainty of the economy, the Joint Apprenticeship Committee is unable to specify the number of applicants they will accept. Number of placements will depend upon the economy.
