Bricklayer Apprenticeship

Bricklayers build walls, partitions, fireplaces, other structures from brick, cinder or concrete block, and other masonry materials. Refractory repairers or masons are bricklayers who install firebrick and refractory tile in high-temperature boilers, furnaces and soaking pits in industrial sites. Bricklayers are assisted by hod carriers, who are helpers that supply bricks, mix mortar, and set up and move scaffolding.

Basic Qualifications

  1. 1. Minimum of 18 years of age - copy of birth certificate required.
  2. 2. High School Graduate or GED-copy of high school or GED required.
  3. 3. Applicants must be able to perform essential job functions the trade.
  4. 4. DD214 if veteran.
  5. 5. Drug screening required before employment begins.

Applications - When and Where To Apply

Applicants who meet the above requirements may apply for the apprenticeship program by filling out an application at 105 West 12th Ave., North Kansas City, MO from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the last Monday of each month.

Note: Applicants must provide copies of their Birth Certificate and High School Diploma or GED Certificate when making application. Duplicated copies of the original documents should be submitted as they will be kept by the committee.

Selection of apprentices under this program is made on the basis of qualifications alone, as set forth in the approved standards selection procedures of the Joint Apprenticeship Committee for the trade.
