Scholarship Foundation

Established in 1994, The Builders’ Association Scholarship Foundation uses investment income from the scholarship endowment fund to create scholarships for outstanding individuals preparing for a career in construction within the area served by the Association. Through members’ generous donations, the fund now exceeds $1,000,000. The Foundation currently supports the following 21 Perpetual Named Scholarships which are fully-funded with contributions of $25,000 or more: Jeff Ammon Memorial; Patricia A. Carroll; V.S. DiCarlo Memorial; JE Dunn, Sr.; John & Jill Dunn; Firebaugh Construction, Inc.; Fogel-Anderson Construction Co.; Grand Construction; Jene Hayes/Hayes Drilling, Inc.; A.L. Huber General Contractor; James L. Hutton, Sr./William W. Hutton Memorial; James L. "Skip" Hutton, Jr.; Kelly Construction Group; McCownGordon Construction, LLC; Murray Company; Phillip W. Moore Memorial; Pearce Construction Company; Rau Construction Company; Senter Family; George J. Shaw Construction Company; Kenneth O. von Achen Memorial

Apply for a scholarship (applications will be available/accepted August 1, 2017 - December 1, 2017)

To be eligible, applicants must plan to be a full-time college student in the Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 semester studying in a construction-related program (construction management, engineering, or architecture). Applicants must complete the following 5 steps before December 1, 2017:

  1. Click the application to download/complete the application then send to Cindy Ignacio (see contact information below)
  2. Click the rater survey to download then forward on to a HS counselor OR college advisor to complete then mail (or e-mail) to Cindy
  3. Forward the same rater survey on to an adult non-family member to complete/mail (or e-mail)
  4. Mail (or e-mail) unofficial transcripts to Cindy Ignacio
  5. Follow-up with Cindy (and raters) to make sure she has all of your material

Donate to the fund

In 1990, The Builders’ Association Board of Directors approved a recommendation to create The Builders’ Association Scholarship Foundation. Since that time, scholarship investments have helped many talented young people in their efforts to gain an education in construction-related fields. Many of them are now building a future in the construction industry. The Board of Directors encourages you to be a part of this wonderful endeavor by contributing to the Foundation. Every contribution is an investment with substantial and long-term dividends.

The Builders’ Association Educational and Scholarship Foundation is recognized as a publicly supported organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. As such, donors who contribute to the Foundation may deduct their contributions as provided in Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
